Small Order Custom Hand-Knits at KOCO Knitting
At KOCO Knitting, we always provide our customers with the highest quality yarns sourced from the yarn mills around the world. With our operations based in India, we have developed strong partnerships with local mills that specialise in a variety of yarns, ensuring that we meet the diverse needs of our fashion designers and brand managers with precision and care.
We have access to yarns from all around the world, however, because our operations are in southern India, we also have vast knowledge of yarn mills within India. In fact they know us so well that a couple of times each year they work with us to spin unique yarn especially for our customers.
Our Specialised Yarn Sourcing Capabilities
Merino Wool from Specialized Mills from within India
Our collaboration with specialised mills in India allows us to offer both custom-made and off-the-shelf Merino wool options. These mills are experts in spinning Merino wool to your exact specifications, from super thick to very thin yarns, catering to all your design needs. There is one mill in India that specialises in spinning merino wool (most of which comes from Australia). This particular mill offers custom dying, and custom spinning of regular merino and non merino wool.
KOCO can offer custom dye services with a minimum of just five kilos per colour, enabling complete customization to match your creative vision.
Recycled Yarns for Diverse Fashion Needs
In line with our commitment to sustainability, we work closely with a mill that specialises in producing high-quality recycled yarn. Understanding the unique characteristics of recycled yarn, we enhance its texture by blending it with a strand of Mohair, creating a yarn that is indulgently soft, akin to alpaca, but more cost-effective. This process not only improves the feel of the recycled yarn but also supports eco-friendly fashion initiatives.
- Recycled Cotton is a fabulous yarn for between seasons.
. - Recycle Denim in 3 different colours, is also a great look.
. - Recycled Wool has a dry feel and is most suited for outdoors.
. - Going for a walk in the winter or watching the local soccer. However, if a softer, more cosy look is required from the recycled wool, we add one strand of mohair and it changes the feel and look. The result of using these 2 yarns together means the yarn now feels like a soft alpaca and has quite an indulgent feel.
